Tips to Owning Your Own Freelance Business with Micala Quinn
SHOW NOTES: Episode 118
Have you ever heard of freelancing?
On today’s episode, we are chatting with a fellow Kansas-City based entrepreneur, Micala Quinn. Micala teaches people, typically moms, how to start and run their freelance business. She teaches this through her course, The Live Free Academy. This allows moms to work from home and provide an income for their family while having flexibility.
Micala’s story is one that resonates with many. SShe began her career with a passion for teaching but found herself at a crossroads after becoming a mom. The struggle of leaving her child in daycare and the desire to work from home led her down the path of freelancing. This journey was about creating a life that allowed her to be present in her children’s life while also earning an income for her family!
Micala shares what a Virtual Assistant does. As a Virtual Assistant, you can do many tasks such as email management, scheduling social media posts, and content creation.
As bloggers, we often underestimate the power of our skill set.
We discussed how the skills that we learn as bloggers can be translated into the freelancing space – copywriting, website design, and SEO to name a few – and how these can be incredibly valuable in the freelancing space.
Starting a freelance business doesn’t have to be difficult! Micala broke it down into some of the actionable steps that she provides for her course The Live Free Academy.
This conversation with Micala was a great one and another option for you to earn more income while starting and growing your blogging business! We can’t wait for you to dive into today’s episode and learn more about either doing this in addition to your blog or hiring help in your own blogging business.
