Our Honest Review of KeySearch
Keyword research is an important component of growing a successful blog. It’s an art, not a science, and having a trustworthy resource is imperative. This is our honest review of the keyword research tool, KeySearch.
What is keyword research?
Keyword research is how bloggers find and research search terms that users enter into search engines when looking for information, products and services. Keywords are related to the questions asked by users in search engines.
Keyword research is learning what content people are searching for on the internet and using that information to create content that will meet the user intention. The goal of incorporating keyword research into your blogging strategy is to generate more traffic to your website/blog the users are looking for.
Gone are the days of just “writing to write” on a blog post. Blog posts should have a purpose when being shared if you want people to find them. It’s not to say EVERY post has to be keyword researched, but the majority of them definitely need to be which is where keyword research tools come in.

How much does KeySearch cost?
KeySearch is one of the most affordable keyword research tools out there which is why it is the main platform we recommend to the students we teach in our course, The Ultimate Blog Bootcamp.
You can use KeySearch for one month totally free by utilizing their free trial period, which we would recommend doing to start. May as well check out the platform to see how you can utilize it as a tool to grow your blog.
They have two paid plans to choose from. The Starter and the Pro. The main difference between these two plans, besides price, is that the Pro plan allows you to do 500 searches a day compared to the starter plan of 200. You also have more utilization in rank tracker keywords and site audit pages each month.
For a blogger who only has one site and isn’t doing an insane amount or research, the Starter plan will be perfect for you. It is only $17/mo or you can pay annually for $169. This is the plan that we use for a total of 4 websites and it still works great for us.
How to use KeySearch?
Upon signing in you will be brought to a screen that allows you to input your keyword into a search bar. You will type in the keyword and it will bring up a list of keywords and their volume, CPC, PPC and score. We recommend paying closest attention to volume and score.
Volume is the amount of searches that given keyword generates in a given month. Score is a way to measure competition. You will want to find keywords that are competitive in nature but won’t be impossible for you to rank for.
In general, for a beginner blogger who is working on domain authority and acquiring some posts that they rank for, you’ll want to find a volume of around 1000-5000 to start. As your traffic grows, that number can/should grow as well.
In order to know what score to shoot for, you will go to the explore tab on KeySearch and then enter your domain and KeySearch will provide you a target score that you should shoot for in order to rank.
Using KeySearch is a great way to level up your keyword research strategy. WIth it’s easy to use platform and affordable pricing we believe it is a great tool for all bloggers!
