Nurturing Your Email List with Amy Katz
SHOW NOTES: Episode 79
Do you know how important email marketing is for your blog?
Amy Katz joins us today to talk about the importance of email marketing. Amy is a certified vegan nutrition health coach, whose passion is creating vegan Mediterranean diet recipes to inspire everyone to choose plant based meals more often. On her website Veggies Save The Day she shares simple delicious recipes that are easy to make any night of the week.
On today’s episode, Amy shares how her hobby of food blogging eventually led her to leave her job in accounting to pursue blogging as a full-time job. Amy talks about what areas she focused on to help grow her blog, how she uses Google Analytics to find out how traffic is going to her blog, and why it is important to also check your click rate from your email list by using something like ConvertKit.
We talk about how much value your email list has because those people are subscribed to your content and will be a continuous traffic source to your blog. She shares how it’s important to not get caught up in your click rate numbers from your email list because those numbers are just data and how email and social media content can be repurposed in the future. Amy shares about having set days that emails are sent out, what an evergreen email sequence is, and why it is a good idea to sign up for your own email list to make sure your emails are being delivered the way you want them to.
We even chat about how email marketing is a great way to continually get your content out there, how someone can get over the feeling that they are bothering their subscribers with their emails, and how you can ask your readers questions in your emails to help build community with them.
We chat about not taking email unsubscribes personally because those people might just not need your content at that point in their lives. She also shares why you should be consistent with your emails and how you can monetize through your email list.
This has been a fantastic conversation with Amy. We want to hear how this episode helped you! Let’s continue the conversation over on Instagram (@sparkmediaconcepts). We’d love to hear from you!
