How to avoid burnout with Vanda Aubrey
SHOW NOTES: Episode 39
Running a business and doing all of the things you have on your plate can lead to burnout if we don’t have the right tools to prevent it. Today our guest, Vanda Aubrey, is here talking all about how to avoid burnout. Vanda has a background in nursing and she works with her clients in functional medicine by educating them and providing HTMA testing to make a customized plan to address their symptoms and concerns. Vanda operates her business while working a full-time job, being a mama to three kids, a wife, and maintaining a farm. She can relate to those who want to prevent burnout and gives us tools to help on this episode today.
Starting a blog as your business takes time and energy and even though you may be passionate about it, you have to take a step back and prioritize self-care and be intentional about what you are doing and why so that you don’t experience burnout. Vanda explains that by setting our eyes on our goal and not comparing ourselves to others in this industry and allowing yourself to learn and grow can help.
If you are thinking about starting a business, Vanda shares how important it is to to prioritize from the beginning what is actually going to move the needle forward. Think of the 1-2 important things each week that you are doing to help move your business forward and stay focused on your goals.
We talk a lot about the signs of burnout, how to avoid burnout, and what to do when we are experiencing that burnout. Vanda shares that focusing on the basics is so helpful. Prioritizing sleep and setting boundaries with yourself about when you will work and when you will sleep and take care of your body is so important. Knowing your capacity and planning out your days, months, quarters, and years and being realistic with yourself about what you can handle can help avoid burnout as well.
Vanda shares how she helps her clients and the importance of the work that she does as well.
It is so important to prioritize taking care of ourselves in all aspects of life but especially when taking on entrepreneurship in addition to the other parts of our lives. Starting off focusing on self care can help us avoid that burnout. Blogging is such a rewarding business but you have to take care of yourself too so that you don’t feel these stages of burnout.
