How Domain Authority and Ahrefs Grew Rebekah Parr’s Blogging Business

We have Rebekah Parr, founder of the Two Mama Bears blog, on to discuss her blogging journey and the strategies that she has used to grow her blog, including domain authority and the use of Ahrefs!

Rebekah started her blog as a hobby in 2021. She had a passion for writing and loved topics related to parenting babies and toddlers. About a year into her blogging journey, she discovered the power of SEO and began using it to grow her blog. The result? Significant growth in just six months! 

We talk more about the importance of SEO and keyword research and Rebekah shares her experience with using Ahrefs for this. She shares the significance of domain authority and shares a hack for outranking higher authority websites. 

Rebekah’s advice for aspiring bloggers is to conduct keyword research BEFORE choosing a niche. She starts by searching for broad categories and then filters the results based on domain authority. She also uses Google Trends to find trending keywords and Answer the Public to discover questions people have about a specific topic.

Rebekah gave an example of finding a keyword with high search volume and no competition on page one, which she would prioritize for her blog.

She also gets ideas from her daily life when she sees ads or comes across new products. Her content calendar is constantly growing because there are always new ideas to explore, which is inspiring as a blogger or aspiring blogger to know that there are always new ideas to write about.

We also talk more about the need for genuine content, tracking blog performance, and making data-informed decisions for your blog.
