Creating an Online Course with Lindsay Bowden
SHOW NOTES: Episode 26
Have you ever thought about creating an online course in addition to your blog? Lindsay Bowden is here today to chat with us about how creating an online course is a great tool.
We chat about how she got started and the first course she ever launched, the right candidate for course creation, figuring out the topic of your online course and how to do that. We chat about how you don’t have to have a certain amount of blog traffic or social media following that you need in order to move forward to create a course. The more you have, the more sales you may make but it doesn’t mean you need a huge following. She shares that typically 2-10% of your email list will convert to a customer.
We chat a lot about beta launches and how you don’t have to have the course all the way complete in order to do a beta launch. Lindsay shares how it can actually be helpful to have the beta members give feedback and help you build the course as you go.
She shares the first step after you have an idea for a course is market research. Figure out what others are asking about this niche when you decide to go for it. You want to understand what your audience is looking for before you create the course.
Lindsay shares the platform that she recommends for launching your course and why, the cost and time commitment, and pricing your course.
Lindsay even shares some ways that you can market the course (organic vs. paid) and shares a lot about evergreen vs. live launches and passive income.
We chat about how it can sometimes take a while for customers to buy but how important it is to continue to show up and provide value for when they are ready.
